摘要

Power consumption, portability, and system costare important parameters in designing pervasive measurementsystems. With these parameters in mind, wireless environmentmonitoring system with a capability to monitor greenhouse gases,such as CO, CO2, SOx, NOx, O2 with environmental parameteris developed. In order to achieve the target design goals, thecommunication module, the wireless smart transducer interfacemodule, and wireless network capable application processormodule were developed based on the IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 1451.2,and IEEE 1451.1 standards, respectively. The low cost and energyefficient gas sensing modules were successfully developed withimproved tolerance to EMF/RFI noise. We defined recalibrationof the system at time intervals to ensure that the desiredaccuracy is maintained. This paper presents the undertakendesign detailing solutions to issues raised in previous research.
